Weekly Aikido Classes
Regular evening and weekend classes in Japanese aikido.
A Chicago dojo dedicated to aikido. Chicago Aikikai offers regular weekly classes, seminars, and practice in the non-competitive Japanese martial art of aikido. Training explores posture, confidence, focus, interactive balance, and mental, emotional, and physical self-control, while techniques redirect the energy of an attack. The dojo was founded in 1963 as the Illinois Aikido Club and was the first Midwest dojo dedicated to aikido. Marsha Turner Shihan serves as chief instructor and dojo-cho, leading the instructional team and teaching weekly classes and seminars. Chicago Aikikai is a member of Aikido Schools of Ueshiba, and evening and weekend classes are held on Chicago's North Side.
