Equality Texas

An Austin-based statewide nonprofit organization. Equality Texas advocates for LGBTQIA+ rights at the state and local levels through community organizing, public education, policy analysis, and leadership training. It connects Texans with tools, resources, support, and opportunities to participate in the civic process. Programs include Equality Leaders, a six-month leadership program covering the legislative process, advocacy skills, and personal storytelling. The organization also provides bill tracking, legislative scorecards, post-session resources, events, volunteer opportunities, and ways to request help or share personal stories. Since 1978, its work has focused on skill-building, public education, and on-the-ground organizing related to LGBTQIA+ issues and legislation.
