Garden classes
Classes use farms, gardens and kitchens as learning spaces.
Tilth Alliance offers classes through farms, gardens and kitchens used as learning spaces. Its programs cover gardening, Washington farming and agriculture, youth and families, environmental stewardship, and food and nutrition. The organization works with farmers, gardeners and eaters across Washington on organic and sustainable food practices. In Seattle, it co-operates Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands with the Friends of Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands; the farm includes production fields, a classroom and a kitchen. Classes and community dinners are offered there, and volunteers can help grow food, pack produce, assist at the farm stand or support office work. Tilth Alliance also supports farmers through the Coalition for Organic & Regenerative Agriculture, which advocates for programs and policies in Washington State.
