About Alliance For Education
Programs and funding support Seattle Public Schools, with a focus on educational equity. The Alliance develops initiatives, invests in schools and students, and partners with the district and local community. Its Seattle Teacher Residency recruits and prepares elementary and special education teachers, with training focused on students furthest from educational justice. The Right Now Needs Fund helps schools cover students' immediate needs, including clothing, meals, and shelter. The Alliance also partnered to establish the district's Office of African American Male Achievement and support strategies advancing racial equity. Since 1995, it has raised and invested funds in Seattle's public school system. The organization is based in Seattle.
