YouTurn

YouTurn provides community-based violence intervention and prevention for adolescents and young adults ages 12 to 25 and older. Its mobile team works in neighborhoods and schools, offering one-on-one outreach and case management focused on conflict resolution and long-term behavior change. Youth develop individual risk reduction and violence prevention plans with support from the team, which also makes community referrals. Services include violence interruption, mediation, school-based mentoring and advocacy, and support for families after incidents of youth violence through hospital trauma response. YouTurn also provides training, workshops, and presentations for individuals, families, groups, communities, and service providers. Its work serves youth impacted by violence in the East and Northeast sectors of Douglas County in Omaha, Nebraska.
