Neighborhood Meals
Free meals prepared or donated by local restaurant partners.
Since 2017, Rethink Food has partnered with local restaurants to turn restaurant expertise and donated food into meals for communities facing food insecurity. Its Neighborhood Meals program supplies free meals through community-based organizations, while Rapid Response coordinates meal production for emergency and ongoing needs. The organization also offers medically tailored meals for eligible Medicaid members. Its Sustainable Community Kitchen demonstrates chef-led meal production with community care. Rethink Food connects restaurants, food donors, government and private agencies, and community organizations through its programs. It also supports policy and systems change related to a more sustainable and equitable food system. The nonprofit reports distributing meals across six cities and working with more than 200 local restaurants and food businesses.
