Paintings and sculpture
Works spanning paintings, sculptures, and anatomical models.
The Paul Kolker collection presents paintings, sculptures, light sculptures, and large-scale works built from photographic images, modular panels, and canvases. Works developed through Kolker's "fracolor" process use repeated minimal shapes, elemental colors, grids, and pixel-like forms. The collection also includes early post-minimalist sculptures, anatomical models, one-way mirror constructions, LED message screens, and experiments with optics, perspective, and observation. Kolker began painting and sculpting in the 1960s and has worked from a studio in Chelsea since 2001. His art explores how color, shape, parallax, and perspective change according to the viewer's position. The collection is based in New York City, with a mailing address in Old Westbury, New York.
