Tailored meals
Dietitian-guided menus prepared for specific illnesses.
Open Arms of Minnesota is a community social service organization. It prepares and delivers free meals to critically ill Minnesotans and their families. Registered dietitians work with trained chefs to create made-from-scratch menus tailored to specific illnesses. Weekly home deliveries are provided with volunteer drivers, and meals can also serve clients' dependents and caregivers. The organization offers each client a nutritional assessment, along with free nutrition counseling and education. Fresh, local, and organic ingredients are used whenever possible, including produce grown at Open Farms locations. Meal delivery is the service provided; there is no walk-in food shelf. Open Arms relies on volunteers and community supporters to prepare and deliver meals.
