Supportive Housing
Safe, supportive community for women rebuilding their lives.
St. Bakhita House provides hospitality, supportive housing, and ongoing accompaniment for women survivors of sexual exploitation. Founded in Milwaukee within the Catholic Worker Movement, the house offers a community centered on healing, stability, education, and hope. Residents can access educational pathways, employment support, spiritual formation, trauma-informed care, and lifelong community. Shared meals and meaningful relationships are part of its approach, alongside support for women pursuing new beginnings. The house is becoming the first House of Studies for women in the Thrive For Life network, expanding opportunities through a partnership focused on education, housing, employment, purpose, and spiritual growth. Its work is rooted in Catholic social teaching and recognizes the dignity of each person while walking alongside women rebuilding their lives.
