Food distribution
Pantries, a mobile market, and food distribution sites.
Free food access programs are the core service. Bread of Life distributes food through pantries, a mobile market, and community distribution sites. It also provides prepared and congregate meals, grocery delivery for mobility-impaired seniors and disabled residents, and meal delivery to people experiencing homelessness. Nutrition backpacks reach at-risk students in Everett public schools. Its Food Access project offers interpreting, translation, education, and referrals to help lower-income communities overcome barriers to nutritious food. The nonprofit works with volunteers and partner organizations to serve residents across the North metro Boston area. Based in Malden, Bread of Life serves communities including Everett, Medford, Melrose, Saugus, and Revere.
