River L.A.

River LA brings people, water, and nature together through work across the 51-mile Los Angeles River corridor. It champions river-oriented policy and integrates design with infrastructure to support sustainable public spaces and community benefit. In practice, the organization convenes government agencies and riverside communities, educates and engages the public, and develops models for participation. It also seeks public and private partnerships to help cities and agencies build riverside parks and develop renewable water sources. Conservation is part of its work, including protecting natural resources and equestrian access near Griffith Park. River LA focuses on equitable revitalization, public health, and well-being. Its projects and community engagement center on the Los Angeles River and its surrounding communities.
