Parent leadership
Training and organizing support help parents lead change.
CADRE provides parent leadership training, organizing support, and tools to help families understand and advocate for their children's rights at school. It works with Black and Brown parents in South Los Angeles to build leadership and advance systemic change in LAUSD schools. Campaigns address unfair school policies, efforts that push Black and Brown students out of school, and educational equity. Parent members also speak at school board meetings, in classrooms, and in the community, and organize for more accountable and responsive schools. CADRE's work includes parent advocacy, education justice campaigns, and movement building, including the Dignity in Schools Campaign in Schools-California. The organization is parent-led and serves South Los Angeles communities.
