Strategic Concepts in Organizing and Policy Education

SCOPE builds grassroots power to advance social and economic justice for low-income, immigrant, woman, femme, Black, and brown communities in Los Angeles. Its work includes organizing communities, developing leaders, and training residents to shape policies affecting life in South L.A. The organization collaborates with community-based organizations, labor unions, and environmental groups, including on green job pathways. It also works on oral health equity, climate initiatives, and growing community power. For more than 30 years, SCOPE has mobilized residents and channeled community voices into efforts to improve quality of life in South Los Angeles. Its programs include training and capacity building, research, and policy education.
