Breakdown Academy

Located near Fairfax and Beverly Grove in Los Angeles, Breakdown Academy is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym offering classes for adults and children. Adult training includes gi and no-gi curricula for beginners and advanced students, with instruction in grappling, wrestling, submissions, control, and sport techniques. Kids classes serve ages 6 to 12. There is also a weekly women's and queer jiu-jitsu class for all experience levels. Training takes place on the academy's mats, with instructors explaining how positions and techniques connect and tailoring coaching to individual students. A free introductory class is available. The gym's programs include training for practical self-defense, sport, and competition, with an emphasis on safe practice and fundamentals.
