Entrepreneurship
Programs support refugee and immigrant women exploring business.
The Refinery began as an entrepreneurship class for refugee and immigrant women, with its first cohort graduating in December 2020. ECHO Collective supports women as they rebuild their lives in the United States. Its entrepreneurship and creative programs create opportunities for personal growth and cross-cultural relationships, including business education for women interested in starting a business. The organization also works to help participants navigate local laws and regulations and build supportive social connections. ECHO describes its work as a holistic ecosystem for entrepreneurs and aims to help New Americans feel at home in Lincoln. It has a private office rather than a public space; visits are arranged by email or text.
