Detroit Bird Alliance

Birding events welcome people of all ages and experience levels. The organization also provides practical resources for getting started, including guidance on binoculars, bird identification, apps, and cameras. Backyard birding advice covers native plants that attract and support birds and pollinators. Visitors can explore a guide to birding locations across Southeast Michigan, from Detroit neighborhoods to state parks, and find recommendations for responding to injured birds or damaged nests, including contacts for local wildlife rehabilitators. The organization fosters appreciation and conservation of birds and the shared environment. Its work also connects with regional conservation efforts, including wetlands and habitat protection. Based in Detroit, the Detroit Bird Alliance serves birders and community members interested in birds and the environment throughout the area.
