TGi Movement

TGi Movement develops community spaces throughout Chicago to unite youth across neighborhood boundaries and address dream deserts. Its Reclaiming The Hood Campaign focuses on investment in Black communities, creating opportunities and raising money for Black businesses and community spaces. The campaign grew from the organization's experience as long-time residents of Chicago Lawn, where schools, businesses, movie theaters, and events have left the community. TGi Movement describes this campaign as the first part of a four-year plan to transform the community into an oasis for people of color, then replicate the model in other communities. Its work centers on neighborhood revitalization, youth connection, and access to places where residents can connect and use resources.
