Mobile Makers Chicago

Based in Chicago, Mobile Makers is a nonprofit organization providing design education through youth workshops, community engagement, public installations, and pop-ups from a retrofitted mail truck. Its year-round programs focus on design and problem-solving, making, and skill-building for young people. Free educational pop-ups bring the Mobile Makerspace into Chicago communities, while consulting supports community engagement and education. The organization also designs public art installations and provides design services for small to medium-scale projects. Mobile Makers' programming encourages youth to become advocates and change-makers in their communities, and it supports pathways into architecture, design, and making. Projects include co-designed public spaces such as the Woven Porch, created for the 2025 Chicago Sukkah Design Festival.
