Information and Referral
Connections to housing, transit, benefits, and community resources.
Information and referral connects people with housing, transit, benefits, and community resources. The Center for Disability Empowerment provides free, consumer-directed Independent Living services for people of every age and disability type across Franklin, Delaware, Union, and Licking Counties in Ohio. Its five core services include independent living skills training, peer support, advocacy, and transition services, along with information and referral. Skills training offers one-on-one coaching for budgeting, cooking, community navigation, and daily living. Peer specialists provide support in person or online, while advocacy addresses individual rights and systems-level barriers. Transition services assist with nursing home-to-community and school-to-adult life changes, including youth ages 14 to 24 and adults. The organization is led by people with disabilities.
