Uhuru Design

Uhuru Design was founded in 2004 and creates bespoke residential and high-end commercial furniture in Brooklyn. Its work uses reclaimed and found materials as part of a narrative design process. The firm also offers office furniture, including workstations and conference tables, along with configurable collections such as the Bolt table series. Custom furniture and fully branded environments are available through its design-as-a-service offering. Uhuru serves residential, hospitality, fast-casual, office, coworking, architecture, and interior design projects. Its designs include collections in the Smithsonian and Brooklyn Museums. The company describes its approach as New American design, with a focus on sustainable furniture fabrication and designing products for mission-driven clients.
