Emergency assistance and supportive outreach are provided to economically disadvantaged, indigent, homeless, and working poor residents. Nutrition programs include weekday lunch, twice-weekly dinner, scratch-made meals, and an emergency food pantry. Responsive Services offers intervention, advocacy, resource information, case management, counseling, eviction prevention, mail service, dental care, and eyeglasses. Empowerment Services supports employment preparation through counseling, computer training, job-readiness classes, work attire, and network building. The Dignity Plates Training Academy provides basic culinary instruction and help overcoming barriers to entry-level culinary work. The Franciscan Center also connects clients with food, clothing, health care, housing, and technology training in Baltimore, where it has served the community since 1968.
