Recognition Status, Monitoring, Suspension and Withdrawal Policy
How Reedleys manages recognition after an assessment, including monitoring, expiry, suspension, withdrawal and reinstatement.
Version 1.0 · Effective 31 July 2026 · The current online version controls.
Applies to: Reedleys and the Reedleys website, applications, directory, verification and recognition services.
Important: Where mandatory local law gives a person greater or non-waivable rights, that law prevails.
1. Purpose
This policy explains how Reedleys manages recognition after an assessment, including monitoring, expiry, suspension, withdrawal and reinstatement.
Recognition reflects evidence and circumstances at a particular time. It is not permanent proof that every future statement, service or action will meet the same standard.
2. Public status labels
Reedleys may use status labels such as:
- Assessment in Progress - the application is being reviewed;
- Recognized / Active - recognition is current and may be publicly displayed;
- Under Review - a material issue is being checked; this is not a final adverse finding;
- Suspended - recognition and badge use are temporarily restricted;
- Expired - the recognition period ended without completed renewal or reassessment;
- Withdrawn - recognition was ended by Reedleys or at the profile holder's request;
- Not Recognized - no active Reedleys recognition applies.
Reedleys may use additional operational labels where their meaning is explained. Current status can be checked on the verification page.
3. Ongoing obligations
A recognized organization or professional must:
- keep core profile information materially accurate;
- use the badge, certificate and rating only within the approved scope;
- notify Reedleys of material changes that could affect identity, authority, licensing, ownership, service scope or recognition;
- cooperate reasonably with status checks and reassessment;
- avoid misleading claims about what recognition means;
- maintain account security and authorized access.
4. Monitoring and review triggers
Reedleys may review an active status when:
- recognition reaches its reassessment or expiry date;
- the profile holder reports a material change;
- a licence, registration, credential, domain or business status changes;
- credible evidence indicates a material inconsistency, misrepresentation or badge misuse;
- a complaint is supported by information relevant to the standards;
- public records or platform monitoring identify a significant change;
- the profile holder fails to respond to a necessary verification request;
- a security, sanctions, legal or fraud concern requires review.
Routine negative feedback or a single unresolved private dispute does not automatically require suspension.
5. Under Review status
Reedleys may place a profile Under Review while gathering information. Where appropriate, the profile holder will be told the concern and given a reasonable opportunity to respond.
Under Review is an interim status and should not be presented as a final finding of wrongdoing.
6. Grounds for suspension
Reedleys may suspend recognition where there is a reasonable and material concern that requires temporary protection or investigation, including:
- identity, authority or evidence can no longer be confirmed;
- a required licence or registration appears expired, suspended or revoked;
- the badge or rating is being materially misused;
- the profile contains a serious misleading statement;
- the profile holder does not cooperate with a necessary status review;
- there is credible evidence of document fraud, impersonation or fabricated reviews;
- immediate action is reasonably necessary for user safety, legal compliance or platform security.
7. Suspension process
Where practical, Reedleys will provide:
- the reason or category of concern;
- the action required or information requested;
- a reasonable response period;
- the interim effect on the profile, rating, badge and certificate;
- information about appeal rights.
Urgent suspension may occur before notice where delay could create material risk, enable ongoing misuse, compromise security or breach law. Notice will be provided as soon as reasonably practicable.
8. Grounds for withdrawal
Recognition may be withdrawn where:
- a material requirement is no longer met and is not remedied;
- the original decision relied on materially false or misleading information;
- serious badge, certificate or rating misuse continues after notice;
- the profile holder repeatedly refuses necessary verification or reassessment;
- the organization has ceased, dissolved or cannot be reliably connected to the profile;
- the professional can no longer lawfully or accurately make a central claimed qualification or licence statement;
- continued recognition would materially mislead users or undermine assessment integrity;
- the profile holder requests withdrawal.
9. Non-payment and commercial plans
Non-payment may end paid features, advertising, lead services, API access or the ability to display current recognition where recognition is provided as part of an active plan. How plans and subscriptions work is set out on the pricing page and in the Platform and Recognition Terms of Use.
Non-payment should not be described as changing the historical result of an assessment. Reedleys may retain a limited record showing that a certificate or status is expired, inactive or no longer authorized for display.
10. Expiry and reassessment
Recognition may have a stated validity or reassessment period. If reassessment is not completed by the due date, the status may expire. An expired profile must stop presenting the recognition as current.
Reedleys may provide a renewal window but is not required to keep recognition active indefinitely while information is outstanding.
11. Reinstatement
Suspended or expired recognition may be restored when Reedleys is satisfied that:
- the reason for restriction has been resolved;
- required evidence is current and credible;
- corrective action has been completed;
- applicable fees for a new assessment or plan have been paid;
- restoration would not mislead users.
A full reassessment may be required.
12. Public record and historical status
Reedleys may display the current status and, where appropriate, the date of expiry, suspension or withdrawal. To protect certificate integrity and prevent misuse, Reedleys may retain a minimal verification record after recognition ends, as described in the Public Data Retention Schedule.
Reedleys is not required to publish confidential reasons, identity evidence, complaint details or legal advice.
13. Applicant-requested withdrawal
A profile holder may request withdrawal. Reedleys may keep records required for accounting, legal, fraud-prevention, certificate verification, appeals or complaints. Withdrawal does not erase accurate historical records that Reedleys has a lawful reason to retain.
14. Appeal
A profile holder may appeal an eligible suspension or withdrawal under the Appeals Policy. An appeal does not automatically restore badge use or active status.
