Sinkinson Dyslexia Foundation

Free dyslexia testing and reading tutoring are available for children and adults who need support with reading. The foundation also works to raise awareness of dyslexia and its impact on the community. Its trained tutors use multisensory instruction and a Structured Literacy program to support reading development. The organization describes dyslexia as a learning disability that can affect a person's ability to learn to read, and notes that it can affect people with average to above-average intelligence. Services are offered to individuals throughout Coastal Virginia. The foundation collaborates with schools, community centers, churches, hospitals, foundations, and local businesses on efforts to address illiteracy and increase dyslexia awareness.
