Community Action Program

Households can access energy and utility assistance, including heating support and propane assistance for people experiencing houselessness. Rent assistance and eviction prevention programs help eligible households at risk of losing housing. Shelter and street outreach are available through houseless assistance programs, along with time-limited financial support when funding and space permit. Additional services include information and referral, senior and low-income utility discounts, permanent supportive housing, and supportive services for veteran families. The organization also connects people affected by the Rowena Fire with recovery support, including help navigating housing needs and replacing important documents. Mid Columbia Community Action Council serves low-income individuals and families in Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman Counties. Its services are based in The Dalles.
