Eight-week classes
Arts classes designed to help young people master new skills.
YUCA's eight-week classes help young people build arts skills through hands-on projects. The South Bronx nonprofit offers training in graphic design, digital illustration, and screen printing, alongside painting, drawing, and digital design classes. Its curriculum introduces visual communication, typography, layout, and design fundamentals. Students also work on projects such as murals, car wraps, and websites, and can develop portfolios through their creative work. Founded in 2006 by William Acevedo, YUCA began as an initiative teaching art to children in a storefront church. The program serves teens in a culturally diverse setting and integrates art learning with entrepreneurship and mentorship. YUCA is based in the South Bronx.
