Local Government Academy

Educational programs and training for local government are the core offerings. Local Government Academy provides nonpartisan learning opportunities each year on topics relevant to Pennsylvania municipalities, including courses for newly elected officials, Local Government 101, and training for local government officials in southwestern Pennsylvania. Its Virtual Academy features webinars and resources on budgeting, accounting, auditing, and the DCED Chart of Accounts. The organization also runs a municipal intern program, hosts events and classes, and operates a job network for local government positions. Specialties include municipal government education, planning webinars, and training for public officials. It is an independent, nonpartisan organization based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
