Drawing sessions
Several drawing sessions are held each week.
Drawing sessions take place several times each week, with a printmaking session on Saturdays open to members and the public. The Plastic Club also presents exhibitions, traditional salons, lectures, dinners, and a monthly film night, along with occasional dance, music, and poetry programs. Workshops and calls for work are part of its activities. Its artistic scope includes painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and fiber arts. Founded in 1897 by professional women artists, the club began as a place to meet, exchange ideas, and exhibit work, and later opened membership to everyone. It operates in Philadelphia from a building acquired by member fundraising in 1909.
