About Past Present Projects
Contemporary art installations in historic spaces are the core offering. Past Present Projects creates site-responsive exhibition opportunities for artists and works with historic sites to develop culturally inclusive narratives about place. Projects bring contemporary art into settings shaped by material collections and cultural histories. The organization also publishes Past Present, a bi-annual journal featuring articles, interviews, and other writing on contemporary art practices that intersect with historic spaces. Its content is intended for artists, arts practitioners, students, scholars, and general readers. Exhibition work and publishing connect art with the histories and everyday life of these spaces. The organization is based in Philadelphia.
