Mutya Philippine Dance Company

Based in Philadelphia, Mutya Philippine Dance Company is a cultural dance organization that teaches and shares Filipino heritage through performance and instruction. Its work includes Filipino folk dances from different regions of the Philippines, along with music and songs tied to cultural traditions. The company serves multiple generations of Filipino Americans in the Delaware Valley, including young people learning about their roots and cultural identity. Instruction is led by artistic director and co-founder Rey Borres, who teaches and choreographs the company's dances. Mutya also offers performances for events, with performance requests available through the company. Founded in 1990, the organization focuses on preserving and developing Filipino art, folklore, and indigenous traditions while passing them on to younger generations.
