About Newton Christian School
Newton Christian School is a private religious school. It serves preschool through eighth-grade students from Newton and surrounding communities in Jasper County. The school incorporates Christ and biblical truth throughout its curriculum, with instruction focused on academic, moral, and spiritual development. Students receive Bible-directed instruction and participate in subjects including art, band, physical education, science, math, music, Spanish, library studies, life skills, and resource support. Founded in 1957, the school was established by parents who wanted the school day to extend values taught at home and church. It is governed by a society-elected school board and serves families from several community churches. Newton Christian School also offers preschool programming and middle school education for grades five through eight.
