About Mekong NYC
Mekong NYC is a social justice organization. Founded in 2012, it serves Southeast Asian communities in the Bronx and across New York City. Its work includes community organizing and movement-building, with healing centered through arts and culture. The organization also works to create a community-rooted safety net and build collective power. Its activities honor Southeast Asian history and culture, and emphasize leadership by people most impacted by marginalization. Mekong NYC brings people together through community events, including an annual Khmer New Year celebration featuring cultural performances and live music. The organization's office is at 2471 University Avenue in the Bronx, near East 190th Street.
