Urban Design Forum

Public Works convenes civic leaders to discuss built environment initiatives shaping the public good. Urban Design Forum is a New York City organization focused on ideas, programs, and events related to urban design and the public realm. Its initiatives include community design through The Local Center, a network developed with the Association for Neighborhood & Housing Development, and fellowships for emerging urban leaders and critics. The Forum also organizes conversations and study trips that explore mobility, housing, streets, and public spaces in New York and other cities. Its work includes supporting neighborhood leaders developing greener public spaces in areas vulnerable to extreme heat and flooding. Events include site visits, panels, and discussions on projects such as the Interborough Express corridor.
