About Columbus Citizens Foundation
Cultural and educational programs, scholarships, and community events are central to this organization's work. Founded in 1929, the Columbus Citizens Foundation celebrates and preserves Italian American heritage and achievement through programs offered in person and online throughout the year. It provides scholarships for Italian American students, including opportunities for high school, college, medical school, study abroad, and graduate study. The foundation also organizes Columbus Weekend, featuring a gala, a wreath-laying ceremony, a Mass, and the annual Columbus Day Parade on Fifth Avenue. Events bring together the Italian American community to recognize its heritage and history. The foundation is based in New York City.
