About The Green Building
The Green Building Gallery is an art gallery housed within a renovated former dry goods store. The 119-year-old masonry building opened in 2008 after an adaptive renovation that retained its structural shell and added a modern core. Inside, a 40-foot-high lobby and expansive natural lighting shape the space. The building also contains event spaces and an indoor-outdoor courtyard, along with Edj Analytics and Galaxie. Its renovation incorporated eco-friendly materials, solar power, geothermal wells and recycled denim insulation. The Green Building is located in Louisville's East Market District, in the NuLu arts district.
