Studio art degree
An intensively taught, interdisciplinary studio art program.
Kentucky College of Art and Design is an independent college of art and design. It is a private, nonprofit institution in Louisville's Old Louisville neighborhood, founded in 2009. KyCAD offers an intensively taught interdisciplinary studio art program, with a subject-led approach to research and practice focused on the role of the artist. The college connects students with mentors who are practicing artists, art historians, and creative industry professionals. Its campus includes the 849 Gallery, which presents exhibitions such as work by BFA candidates. KyCAD also hosts on-campus exhibitions and events, and runs a regional high school art competition. The college is in the final stages of applying to participate in federal student aid programs; if approval is not in place by fall 2026, it says it will work with students on institutional scholarships and other resources.
