Urban Peace Institute

A community safety and justice organization. Urban Peace Institute works with community leaders in Los Angeles and across the nation to develop community-led approaches to violence and systemic harm. Its work includes training people in Community Violence Intervention and Justice Transformation, advocating for public investment in community-based youth development and safety strategies, and administering public and private funding to frontline violence intervention agencies. The institute partners with on-the-ground leaders and supports their efforts to transform systems of harm and reduce violence. Its programs aim to equip communities most affected by violence and injustice with resources and tools to create safer neighborhoods. UPI also shares training resources and works to advance justice transformation through collaboration with community partners.
