About Ready, Set, Read
Based in Los Angeles, Ready, Set, Read! is a community program supporting families with children ages 0-5 through early literacy and school readiness activities. It provides new bilingual books for children's home libraries and classroom book collections for partner schools. The program also offers research-based, bilingual English-Spanish workshops for parents covering early literacy, math, and science at early education centers across Los Angeles. Educators receive training to facilitate the workshops, along with professional development, curriculum, ancillary resources, and technical assistance throughout the academic year. Through partnerships with early education centers and LAUSD's Early Childhood Education Division, Ready, Set, Read! provides book access, educator support, and family engagement for infants, toddlers, and their families.
