Modal Design

Modal Design is an architecture studio. It was established in Los Angeles in 2004 by registered California architect Daniel Monti, who leads the practice as principal and lead designer. The studio works on residential projects, including homes and small-lot subdivisions, as well as projects such as a winery. Each project begins with investigative design exercises that explore possible solutions in response to its requirements. The practice draws on research and experimentation, considering how architecture can reconcile nature with the built form and ordinary elements with project-specific needs. Modal Design's work includes modern residential architecture, featured in its project look book. The studio describes its approach as an evolving design process rather than simply presenting a first solution.
