Catholics began meeting to discuss LGBTQ issues and celebrate Mass.
Since 1969, Dignity Los Angeles has held Catholic Mass and discussed LGBTQ issues. It is the founding chapter of Dignity/USA, an independent lay organization seeking reform in Catholicism and society, particularly on matters affecting gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning people. The chapter offers spiritual ministry and other support to LGBTQ people. Sunday Mass is normally celebrated at the Dignity Center, and chapter liturgies may also be offered by Zoom. Membership applications are available, and the chapter accepts donations. Dignity Los Angeles also shares news, resources, and information about its activities, including board meetings and an anniversary conference.
