Kenpo Karate Training
Study basics, forms, sets, and defense techniques.
Visitors can schedule a dojo visit to observe a class, learn about Kenpo and self-defense, and arrange a first lesson. Training covers basics such as stances, foot maneuvers, blocks, punches, kicks, and natural weapons, with practice using bags or pads. Students also study forms and sets, which develop linked movement, timing, sequential flow, and isolated blocking, striking, or kicking skills. Partner-based self-defense techniques address different attacks through practiced movement combinations and principles of offense and defense. The program includes Kenpo Cubs instruction focused on stances, while the six-week introductory offer includes a free uniform. Bryan Hawkins Kenpo Karate serves students at dojos in West Los Angeles and Granada Hills, Los Angeles.
