About Artworxla
Semester-long School Workshops bring professional local artists into classrooms to lead students through multidisciplinary art projects. Students present their work at museums and cultural and civic centers across Los Angeles. artworxLA is a sequential arts education program serving alternative high school students in LA County. Its after-school Fellowships offer in-depth experiences in fashion, performance, visual, and media arts, with college-level instruction and career and life skills courses. Summer Scholarships support post-secondary preparation through intensive classes that earn college credit while students are still in high school. The program also connects students with creative business mentors for internships and job shadowing in areas such as entertainment, marketing, advertising, and event production. Founded in 1992, artworxLA has served more than 18,000 students.
