Huntington Area Recreational Trails Association

The association develops and maintains multi-use trails and greenways for public use. It also supports trail funding and fundraising, and advocates for the development, construction, and expansion of the local trail network. HARTA promotes awareness of recreational trails' physical, social, relational, and economic benefits, and educates residents about Huntington's history and heritage along its railways and rivers. Its work includes partnerships with public bodies and support for volunteer efforts. The association organizes themed walks, including events focused on local history and awareness, and has supported trail features such as a community pavilion and a hub for trail users. Its activities serve Huntington, Indiana, and the surrounding area.
