Urban Outreach Inc.

Since 1996, Urban Outreach has invested in economically disadvantaged youth and their families in the greater Houston area. The nonprofit provides out-of-school enrichment in apartment communities, schools, and camps, with activities designed to supplement traditional academics. Its four character-based programs include apartment community programming, Christian summer camping, soccer camps, and school character development. Activities cover sports, literacy, STEAM, and character education, with a focus on teaching positive character qualities. Urban Outreach reports operating programs in 24 apartment communities and reaching more than 5,000 family members. Volunteers support its programs, and the organization welcomes financial gifts and prayers. It began after Houston-area churches identified a need to support inner-city families and schools.
