About Houston Hua Xia Chinese School 休斯顿华夏中文学校
Founded in 1993 by Houston-area Chinese community volunteers, Hua Xia Chinese School began by teaching simplified Chinese characters and Pinyin. It is a Texas-registered nonprofit education organization with its main campus in Houston and additional campuses in Katy, Sugar Land, and Pearland. Classes cover Chinese language at multiple levels, alongside arts, special-interest, and academic enrichment programs. Students can study from preschool through high school, and the school also offers adult education and courses for retirees. Weekend classes are central to its programs, with after-school instruction and summer camps available at some campuses. An online school extends its offerings beyond the in-person locations. The organization serves about 2,500 enrolled students across its campuses.
