American Legion

Advocacy and support for veterans, service members, and military families are central to this civic and nonprofit organization. It promotes mental health support, offers peer-to-peer resources, and provides suicide prevention training. Programs include American Legion Baseball, junior shooting sports, Boys State and Boys Nation, and an oratorical contest with scholarships. The organization also provides accredited assistance with federal veterans benefits and appeals, member discounts, and events and training. Its legislative advocacy includes a grassroots action center for sending messages to Congress. Local posts conduct Buddy Checks. The American Legion serves members and communities across the country, including in Glendale.
