Afterschool programs
Out-of-school programs include afterschool and summer learning.
Afterschool and summer learning programs are one part of Youth & Opportunity United's work with young people and families in Evanston. The youth development organization also provides clinical counseling, street outreach, and family engagement programming. Its approach centers on identity-affirming relationships, expanded learning opportunities, and resources to meet emerging needs. Y.O.U. serves more than 1,000 youth and reaches over 4,000 family members each year. Programs aim to support young people's academic, social, and emotional growth, build resilience, and help youth define and pursue their goals. Family engagement programming works to catalyze parent networks, while partnerships with more than 50 organizations help extend the depth, variety, and reach of services.
