Scholastic contests
Contests recognize student work across more than 100 categories.
Since 1921, the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association has supported scholastic journalism in Michigan. It serves newspaper, newsmagazine, yearbook, broadcast, and online media programs at middle and high schools, with membership open to Michigan K-12 schools. MIPA offers contests and critique services that recognize student work and support program development. Its conferences and summer workshop provide journalism training for students and advisers, while an adviser community and student cohort offer opportunities to connect. The association also provides quick help and advocacy related to student press rights, censorship, press law, and ethics. Based at the Michigan State University School of Journalism, MIPA connects school media programs with resources, training, and opportunities to take part in scholastic journalism.
