DHDC offers Family Education and communication classes for workplace, community, and family settings. Rooted in Southwest Detroit, the nonprofit serves more than 5,000 youth and adults annually through programs for kids, families, and adults. Services include HUD housing counseling, financial literacy, case management, and entrepreneurship and wealth-building support. Youth offerings include the Urban Arts Academy, Best Buy Teen Tech Center, Summer Youth Program, Youth Ambassador Scholarship Program, and Robotics & Engineering Center of Detroit. Family services include Padres Unidos, Parent Mentor Program, and Parent Institute. Adults can also participate in the Freedom Ink Tattoo-Removal Program. In 2024, DHDC reports serving more than 5,000 people, reaching 50,000 through outreach activities, and helping more than 150 members learn English.
