About DOD STARBASE Peterson Academy
Hands-on STEAM instruction is the core offering at this youth academy. The program focuses on motivating fifth graders to explore science, technology, engineering, art and design, and mathematics as they continue their education. Students take part in 25 hours of instruction and activities designed to meet or exceed national standards. Lessons connect classroom learning with real-world applications, and students interact with military personnel while exploring military and civilian careers. The academy is located on Peterson Space Force Base and serves schools through class registration. STARBASE Peterson is in Colorado Springs, where it is the only STARBASE Academy in Colorado.
