Tempest Engineering

Tempest designs low-temperature process chillers operating from 20F to -60F, with custom-engineered systems ranging from 10 to 300 tons on a single skid. The Cleveland business also develops ultra-low-temperature chillers, ammonia refrigeration systems, and temperature control units for industrial processes. Its equipment can combine cooling and heating, meet Class 1 Division 2 electrical and area classification requirements, or be built into containerized mechanical rooms. Tempest serves applications in chemical and pharmaceutical markets, ice rinks, food and beverage, energy, rubber, cold storage, and cold testing. Engineering work includes defining process specifications with customers or designing to an existing specification package. It also services ammonia chillers and engineers new ammonia refrigeration systems, with in-house support for safety and code requirements.
